Actor Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming film Karuppan has been awarded an ‘U’ certificate by the Regional Censor Board, Chennai.
Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Tanya (grand-daughter of veteran actor Ravichandran) in the lead and directed by Renigunta fame Panneerselvam, Karuppan has received a ‘good, pre-release’ talk in the industry. Vijay Sethupathi reportedly plays a bull fighter of the film whose audio was released recently in a grand manner.
The film looks at the romantic side of a bull-fighter and doesn’t go into the intricacies of Jallikkattu. Tanya, who debuted in Tamil films with last December’s Balle Vellaiyathevaa opposite Sasikumar, looks eagerly to the release of her second film in K-Town which hasn’t had many successful films in the first 8 months of this year.
Karuppan was viewed by the Censors a few days back and was cleared sans any cut and with a ‘U’ certification. The makers have now announced that the film would be released in theatres all over the State and elsewhere on 29th September (on Ayudha Pooja). Saikthivel is the film’s cinematographer while Aishwarya’s Sri Sairam Creations has produced the film.
